Igor M. Levicki is a software engineer from Belgrade, Serbia. He has an in-depth knowledge of C, C++, and assembler for IA-32 and EM64T platforms including MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, and SSE4.2 instruction set extensions. He is most proficient in code optimization, image, video, and audio processing as well as threading and GPGPU programming.

This was programmed in about 1993 by Nick Jameson (nojameson.net) with a little help from Tim Jameson (ortega24024). You can see our reflections in the TV screen. Moves blocks around with the blitter to insert 4 vertical and 4 horizontal lines each frame. After each *2 zoom the picture is fully accurate. Took thousands of lines of tiresome 68000 M/C (well we’re stubborn and do everything from scratch so didn’t use any C or whatever) to write the program we used to choose which contours to display and choose the colours. Will get a decent recording of it eventually. For a much more impressive version see “Michael’s (mpj500) Intel assembler version of the Mandelbrot zoom”, and there are more details about the programming techniques in the video response to that.

The Glenn Pure (via Electronics Australia and Dick Smiths) K-3602 EPROM programmer, that I built 10 years ago, but only just now bothered to sit down and test if it worked. An essential bit of equipment for anyone restoring old computers– in this short video it’s programming a 4 Kilobyte[!] Intel 2732A UV-erasable EPROM, with the Synertek SYM-1 RAE editor/assembler from 1978. Google ‘Glenn Pure’ for his site w/ software, PCB artwork, etc.
