The Indiana Area School District would like to implement a school-wide television broadcasting program (EPTV) at East Pike Elementary School. The project would promote character building, leadership, school pride, volunteerism, and mentoring. The 10-15 minute morning program would feature a student led team providing announcements, activities, weather, sports, Pledge of Allegiance, and character building/bullying prevention programming. Implementing EPTV will unify the school to form more of a community. By providing every student an opportunity to appear on live television in front of their peers and teachers we feel we will increase attendance, school pride, and volunteering. Because children today are visually stimulated, a student centered, technology-enhanced learning environment can better serve the diverse needs of 21st century learners. EPTV can benefit the children in so many more ways that an auditory program can not.
