UnrealScript programming tutorial.

This is a tutorial for UDK engine (Unrealscript programming) that shows how to create a control point very easily. It is the base level of doing the work and the rest depends really how you want to use it. Enjoy. Also visit my website at www.contagionentertainment.com for more tutorials.

Check out the latest update here: www.youtube.com www.nsparisi.com This is my first snapshot of my current progress through creating a game using Epic’s UDK. Added in this demo are Bombs, Camera movement, and Enemy events. I am a programmer and, although I am spending a great deal of time learning the UDK editor, making a few materials, and designing levels, most of the body of the project will be code. So, please try not to focus on visual appeal and assets, and appreciate functionality. Thank you.

Here is a final portfolio pieces that we did together. It is a Day of Defeat Source map called Avalanche that we remade in the UDK (Unreal Development Kit). Sean did most of the art work and environment work with some help from one our colleagues at school, Brad Boyles. Greg did the programming for the level and both of us did a lot of the design work IE blocking out the whole level with BSPs. Here it is hope you like it:

www.nsparisi.com Another update of my game using Epic’s UDK! Added in this video is barrel rolling! Can you tell? View the new ultimate project that i am working on. It is my own video game project that wields the all-powerful Unreal Engine 3. On top of its superb graphics processing are my own custom game mechanics. I plan on making this game feel so different from the default unreal tournament shooter that it will be considered completely independent. This is my first “work in progress” video. Right now, i have a custom main menu using ScaleForm technology that is workable through Adobe Flash CS5. Once the “new game” button is pressed, it will move to the loading screen and proceed onto the game itself, which currently is just my detailed custom skeleton character that you can control in a simple box room with simple/dark lighting. Everything related to the skeleton was done in 3d studio max including the animations using inverse kinematics and keyframing. Once my idle, jog, crouch, and prone related animations were done, it was all about programming everything into the engine using UnrealScript, an adventure in C++ mixed with Java.

Added in this demo are Items (rings and bombs), tons of sound effects, and a change in the game resolution. So, please try not to focus on visual appeal and assets and ,instead, appreciate the functionality. Thank you.
I began writing this game about 2 days ago after learning a more about programming..and eventually went back to Unreal Script (which was WAYY easier after i took the 20 or so C++ lessons
My Computer Arts final year practical outcome. First Person Puzzle Platformer made in UDK. Game elements programmed with Kismet and UnrealScript. Art assets made in Maya and Photoshop. All design, programming and art by Thomas Finlay www.tamoose.co.uk
I’m posting this video to illustrate a problem I’m having with bot movement and firing in UDK.
Using Unreal Engine 2.5 and UnrealScript I performed a total conversion to create an Adventure game based on a children’s book.
